Mission
JPC Foundation is a non-profit organization providing innovative continuing education opportunities and training to physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other members of the healthcare community.
JPC Foundation strives to improve the health and well being of people through innovative education of healthcare providers and patients. With more knowledge and a better understanding through education, healthcare professionals and consumers will raise the overall quality of healthcare. JPC Foundation provides an environment of empowerment through knowledge. We search out the latest healthcare information and look for ways to share that information with providers and consumers in a concise, effective manner.
Our mission for 2006 is to continue to offer the very popular and successful types of programs while placing an emphasis on the development of programs and the expansion of audience for topics in safe medication practices, mental disabilities and geriatric care.

- Professional newsletter, posters, seminars and web-casts focusing on mental disability therapies
Why Focus on Safe Medical Practices?
Safe medication practices continue to receive a great deal of emphasis in the healthcare arena. ISMP’s many years of analyzing the data and constant interaction with healthcare professionals have put them at the forefront of creating medication error reduction strategies. It seems a natural pairing to fit the knowledge of ISMP with JPCF’s experience in educating the healthcare community to get the word out throughout the country.
Why Focus on Disabilities?
Over 54 million Americans live with a disability. Current legislative efforts are to establish programs to assist with the present and long term care needs of the populous. The vision for rehabilitation medicine is to maximize a patient’s potential. JPCF shares this vision and believes education is the key. Better healthcare can be achieved through awareness and education.
Why Focus on Geriatrics?
According to the Administration on Aging, by the year 2030 the elderly population is expected to increase to 70 million (20.6% of the population) due to the older population living longer and to the aging of the baby boomer generation. The Association of Directors of Geriatric Academic Programs and the American Geriatrics Society state there are about 7,500 certified geriatricians in America while roughly 14,000 are currently required to care for the elderly population. By 2030 some 36,000 clinical geriatricians will be needed. We believe that the population increase and the complexity of geriatric care and its multidisciplinary nature calls for additional attention by the healthcare community and creates an increased need for continuing education for geriatric healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychiatrists, social workers, pharmacists, and other care providers.
