1199SEIU League Training and Upgrading Fund
The Institute for Continuing Education is part of the 1199SEIU League Training and Upgrading Fund, the largest labor management fund in the country, and was developed as part of the Fund’s mission to provide high quality educational programs to healthcare practitioners. The Institute is committed to offering programs that are fully accredited and cost effective. Our presenters are nationally recognized, credentialed academic instructors and experts in their fields.
We use state-of-the-art technology to present high quality live programs in Manhattan, live videocast of select programs to various 1199SEIU-affiliated locations and hospitals, and live streaming around the world via the Internet.
Programs are offered to over 5,000 members and non-members each year to meet re-certification requirements or as refresher courses for those who want to expand and clarify their working knowledge. Preparation courses for national examinations are also offered for select professions.
The programs are free for eligible 1199 workers. They are low cost for non-1199 workers ($15 per hour). All programs are open to non-1199 workers.
