Medication Errors Update: Institutional and Retail
Presented by: Anthony J. Cutie, RPh, PhD
Influence of health literacy on medication errors; its consequences; recommendations to lessen impact. Potential errors due to sound-alike names or look-alike labeling, misinterpretation of orders, and other factors; recommendations to lessen impact. Causes of medication errors and adverse events; recommendations to avoid those causes. Federal regulations and guidances; how to best report medication errors to lessen reoccurrence and impact.
